The International Conference on \u201cCulture for Sustainable Cities\u201d aims at providing a high\u2010level forum to address key issues related to culture and sustainable urban development. As a key cornerstone of the elaboration process of the UNESCO Global Report on Culture and Sustainable Urban Development, it will pursue the following objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2010 sharing experiences and propose strategic recommendations to strengthen culture\u2010based sustainable urban development initiatives at the international, national, regional and local levels;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2010 present and discuss the draft UNESCO Global Report on Culture and Sustainable Urban Development;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2010 \u00a0contribute to the reflection on a \u201cNew Urban Agenda\u201d in the context of the Post\u20102015 Sustainable Development Agenda, thus providing strategic input to the Third United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III), scheduled to take place in October 2016 in Quito, Ecuador.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
