Tianjin Forum is a series of international academic forums co-sponsored by Nankai University and the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies. It takes "Urban and Regional Governance" as the central topic and is held every other year. Tianjin Forum (2019) will focus on the theme of “High-Tech-Enabled Cities and Regional Governance Innovation”. With the development of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, block chain and other technologies, technology-led intellectualization is becoming a new trend of urban and regional governance innovation. Emerging technologies have promoted the systematic integration of smart city, healthy city, safe city and ecological city. They are stimulating the innovation and transformation of urban public service supply mode. An important feature of urban governance innovation is the emergence of "urban brain", which continuously evolves and rapidly iterates to become a new tool of urban governance. With the rapid application and upgrading of new technologies, the concepts of space and time have been further compressed. Cities have become the nodes of an expanding open system. The demand for interconnection between cities has been strengthened. Under the background of "one belt and one road" construction and regional economic integration in the Asia Pacific region, inter-regional and intra-regional cooperation among cities has become particularly important. This Tianjin Forum will invite well-known scholars, politicians, business people and other professional elites. By sharing and exchanging advanced technologies and theories, analyzing and summarizing existing practices and experiences, they will further explore the new capabilities and directions brought by emerging technologies to urban and regional governance innovation to promote the multi-disciplinary research on urban and regional governance.
